Doc’s Spring 2023 Update
When I first starting using rewards apps to earn cash by watching videos, doing so was prevalent and easy. Then, Prodege, the company who owns MyPoints, Swagbucks, InboxDollars, Upromise, and many other rewards sites announced they were canceling “Watch.” For me, someone who works close to 50 – 60 hours a week most of the year, watching their ads was a great way to earn a few pennies through passive income. Thus, when Watch was canceled, I lost a good chunk of my rewards earnings. However, I’ve been using rewards sites since 2004, so I changed my routines and kept on earning. Read below for the apps where you can still earn a little extra cash by watching videos.
Earn Cash by Watching Videos
True-X Ads on Prodege Sites
While not a true replacement for Watch, True-X ads are a relatively easy way to earn a few pennies. To find True-X ads, click on the Swagbucks Discover Home and you will see the True X ads under Offers from Our Trusted Partners. These are mostly available first thing in the morning. To earn, let a short ad play, and click on it one more time to earn 2 Swagbucks.
True X ads are now available on MyPoints under Deals and Trusted Partners. I’ve heard that True-X ads show up on Inbox Dollars and Instagc occasionally too, but I’ve never found them.
ShopKick
ShopKick has multiple ways to earn. I play ads while I’m making breakfast every morning. You can also earn with click-through shopping, scanning bar codes in grocery stores, or scanning receipts for promoted items.

HideoutTV
I discovered HideoutTV during the pandemic when my other apps were running low on ads. You can redeem points through HideoutTV or a partner like Instagc or LootUp. I play these videos while I’m working or doing other things, so the earning is completely passive.

Lootably TV
Lootably is much like HideoutTV. I earn points through my connected MyPoints account. Check the other Prodege sites as you might find Lootably available there too. To find Lootably on MyPoints, click on Deals and scroll down to Deals from Our Trusted Partners.
