We could all use a little extra cash during the winter-holiday season. I have been taking surveys to earn money since 2004, and I’ve tried many survey apps over the years. Below, I list my favorite survey apps in order of preference. For each app, I share my favorite features and tips for how to make the most of your time. In general, I only take surveys that pay at least $1 per 10 minutes of time, or $6 an hour. I also take surveys while I’m doing other things like heating my lunch or watching TV. That way, I’m always multi-task earning and never using my “free” time.

- Take the daily pop quiz for 3 pennies. I post the answer, almost everyday, on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

- Most of the surveys take less than 5 minutes to complete. One survey took me 3 – 4 minutes to complete, but it paid $5.
- You receive $0.10 for any attempted surveys.
- You can cash out to PayPal or redeem for a gift card.
Tips
- Complete “trait” surveys as quickly as possible. Once you reach 10,000 trait points, you will earn even more, and you can cash out sooner.

- The minimum payout is $3.

Tips
- Keep an eye out for the poll surveys worth 1 cent. They take seconds to complete.
- The “download an app” surveys pay well for a few minutes of time. These surveys pay quickly, and you can delete the app once you receive your earnings.
